SSTM Named a National Class-A Paleontological Fossil Collector

On April 9, 2018, the Paleontological Experts Committee of China (PECC) revealed the first Class-A Paleontological Fossil Collection Units it rated. On the list were 20 organizations, including the SSTM. This selection covered hundreds of research institutions, public museums, institutions of higher learning and private museums housing paleontological fossil collections across the country. In recent years, SSTM has been actively enhancing the secure management and data sharing of its collections, strengthening the research on and collection of pieces, and forcefully advancing the digitization of collections. These efforts have laid solid foundation for SSTM to establish itself as a distinctive specimen collection center.
