On November 13, 2021, Shanghai Science Communication Forum specially invited Stéphane Streiff, Director of Shanghai Eco-Efficient Products and Processes Laboratory (E2P2), to talk to the audience about how the research in industry-academy cooperation in the field of green chemistry helped combine the academic power with the industrial power and let them play an important role in dealing with major environmental challenges.

Green chemistry is an area of chemistry focusing on using a series of principles to reduce or eliminate the use and generation of hazardous substances in the design, production, and application of chemical products and ultimately providing sustainable solutions on the basis of traditional chemistry. Its theories are being put into practice. Under the cooperation of governments, industries, academics, and researchers of multiple countries, 12 principles of green chemistry have been established and adopted to explore green chemistry technologies in multiple applications.
