SSTM held a special Evening of Technology for the Elderly.

During China's 12th "Month of the Elderly", SSTM held a special Evening of Technology for the Elderly titled "The Sunset Can Still Make the Sky Glow" on October 16. The activities included an exhibition of the "Silver Hair Technology" makers' achievements, a display of high-tech experiences, a sand painting show, a scientific stage play, a curiosity market, an expert lecture on senile diseases, an artistic performance, a scientific movie and the classic theater. The participants in the event were either senior citizens over 60 years old or their families. The event attracted more than 1,500 visitors. 

The 2021 Makers' Camp, a branded educational program of SSTM on the theme of "Silver Hair Technology", had just ended. The creative scientific installations designed and made by student maker teams were exhibited that evening. The event set up an area for high-tech experiences, where the elderly visitors could experience wearable VR devices which took them to the world of virtual reality instantly and try the exoskeleton robot. They could feel the care for the elderly and the support for old-age service brought by technological development. The "Let Experts Show You Around" program specially invited an expert from the Department of Geriatrics of Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University. The expert gave a lecture titled "Discover Problems Early, Make Targeted Treatment, and Enjoy Old Age Happily" and offered a health consultation service on the spot. That evening, some teachers from the Shanghai University for the Elderly performed two passionate choruses: A Merry Festival Song and My Motherland and Me, showing a feminine demeanor with their light steps and graceful postures. The dance China in the Light brought by the staff of SSTM expressed their deep love for the motherland.
