Arrangements of BASF Kids’ Lab 2019 at Shanghai Science & Technology Museum
1. Wonderful plastic treasure pot (45 minutes of scientific experiment, age: 8-12 years old)
As a cost-effective material, plastic can save resources and make everyday life more healthy, safe and convenient. However, it is also important that plastics and the wastes should be used, handled and recycled in a responsible manner. This experiment helps kids understand various properties of plastics and encourages them to think about ways to separate different types of plastics for future recycling.
2. Smart foodies (45 minutes of scientific experiment, age: 8-12 years old)
Countries all over the world are affected and plagued by overweight, obesity and other forms of malnutrition. The experiment aims to raise kids’ awareness about dietary nutrition and develop healthier eating habits. Kids learn how to measure and compare the vitamin C content of different juices, so as to better understand the benefits that various fruits and vegetables bring to human body.
