The special population educational activity brand of the Shanghai Natural History Museum – “Accessible Nature Tour” is optimized and upgraded on the basis of the original five types of themed visit activities. This year, it has developed a sign language explanation project in the “Shanghai Story” exhibition area and launched the “Accessible Film Commentary,” including two popular science films, African Show and The Road to Humanity. On the morning of July 24, the Shanghai Natural History Museum invited nearly 40 representatives of special groups of visual and hearing disabilities to come to the museum to experience the “Theme Activity Day for Special Groups.”
As an important public cultural service institution in Shanghai, the Shanghai Natural History Museum always adheres to the important concept of “A people’s city built by the people and for the people” put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping, and strives to build a “warm” museum. As of this month, the Shanghai Natural History Museum has received 28 batches of special groups organized by the Shanghai Disable Persons’ Federation, benefiting 1,197 people. In the future, the Shanghai Natural History Museum will keep exploring the provision of refined services for special groups, and bring more diverse, inclusive, and “warmer” educational service to the people.
