On November 10, 2021, the 2022-2024 "Museum-School Cooperation" project of Shanghai Astronomy Museum (a branch of SSTM) was launched. Shanghai Astronomy Museum signed an agreement of cooperation and joint development with 10 elementary and secondary schools, including East Shanghai High School, Mingzhu Lingang Primary School, Qibao High School, Gezhi High School, Shangnan High School, Nanhui High School, the High School Affiliated to Fudan University, Yangjing-Juyuan Experimental School, Mingqiang Primary School, and Minxing Road Primary School. The two parties will carry out extensive and in-depth cooperation in three aspects: "developing some museum courses, training some teachers in technological innovation, and cultivating some innovative students."

After the signing ceremony, the museum and the schools exchanged ideas on the specific goals and implementation plans of the cooperation. The attending student representatives had a profound visit of the museum led by a science teacher of the museum. Each of them was given an educational resource package for them to make a painting of the Milky Way and start a learning journey with the astronomy museum.

Shanghai Astronomy Museum will make the best effort to develop a resource sharing platform connecting the scientific museum with school education under the policy of "easing the academic burden on students". Relying on its specialty in astronomy and rich exhibition & education resources, the museum will continue to develop more and varied museum-school cooperation patterns, vigorously promote the organic integration of science & technology with culture and quality education, fully boost the improvement of young people's scientific and cultural qualities and innovative abilities, and contribute to the implementation of the "easing the academic burden on students" policy.
