On January 5, 2022, the results of the evaluation of the First Batch of "Digital Beauty Spots in Shanghai" organized by the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism were announced. The Shanghai Science and Technology Museum was selected in this list, ranking first in terms of comprehensive scores. 

A digital beauty spot is a type of scenic spot, where effective and unified management, service, marketing, and other information systems are established through the comprehensive utilization of IoT, big data, cloud computing, AI, and other modern information technology to realize the digitalization of tourism elements, intelligent operation and management, and personalization of tourism services, enhance the tourists' experience and satisfaction, and achieve sustainable development. The Shanghai Science and Technology Museum gives top priority to "spectators' experience" and comprehensively utilizes digital technologies such as AI, big data, IoT perception, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and holographic projection to make every effort to build a "three-in-one" smart venue featuring "platform-based management, network-based services, and data-based decision-making". In the future, the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum will continue to take the "spectators' demand" as the orientation and the "14th Five-Year" smart venue planning as the blueprint, improve venue services through digital technology, and actively explore the integration of culture and technology to build a platform for science popularization education that is "unbounded" and "accessible".
