SSTM held a ceremony for the release of the new book Sinophis and the donation of snake specimens.

On October 17, 2021, a ceremony was held at the Shanghai Natural History Museum (a branch of SSTM) for the release of the new book Sinoophis and the donation of snake specimens, participated by more than 30 people from Shanghai Natural History Museum, China Wildlife Conservation Association, Anhui Normal University, The Straits Publishing House, and the editorial board of the new book. Curator Wang Xiaoming is a special consultant of the new book, and Shanghai Natural History Museum is a sponsor of it. 

The editor-in-chief of Sinoophis Professor Huang Song of Anhui Normal University is in good cooperation with SSTM and has donated snake specimens to SSTM for scientific research repeatedly. At the donation ceremony, Professor Huang Song donated 100 snake specimens to SSTM on behalf of Anhui Normal University. Those specimens had been collected by Professor Huang Song and his team for scientific research over the years, attached with such detailed information as the place of origin and the time of collection. The specimens are of different types, including impregnated snake specimens, snake sloughs and eggs, as well as the type specimens of new turtle species. The Straits Publishing House is a top publishing agency in China for nature-related books. It donated a number of illustrated books on wildlife to SSTM.
