"Space Day of China" Activities at Shanghai Astronomy Museum

    The day April 22, 2022 marks the seventh Space Day of China. To promote the Space Spirit, support the "Science Popularization at Home and Mobile Module Hospitals" activities, and contribute to the pandemic response, Shanghai Astronomy Museum teamed up with other institutions to organize a series of activities on the theme of Space Day in two weeks. Hot and professional popular science contents were selected, helping the adolescents and adults quarantined at home celebrate the Space Day in diversified and interesting manners and gain more astronomy knowledge. 

    On the morning of April 16, Shanghai Astronomy Museum and Shanghai News Radio jointly launched the "Dreams of the Space Station: Celebrating the Return of Shenzhou Spaceship" show to live-stream the return of the Shenzhou-13 manned spaceship. In the afternoon, the first cloud streaming for the "Science Popularization at Home and Mobile Module Hospitals" activities commenced. On April 24, Shanghai Astronomy Museum and the Innovation Academy for Microsatellites of Chinese Academy of Sciences organized the special live-streaming to celebrate the Space Day of China. Huang Yawen introduced the history of China's manned space flight, the life of taikonauts in space and the space station launching missions for this year. Qiu Chengbo, science popularization head of the Innovation Academy for Microsatellites of Chinese Academy of Sciences made an introduction to asteroids. In addition, Shanghai Astronomy Museum and the Innovation Academy for Microsatellites of Chinese Academy of Sciences launched the "Minor Space Dreams" outstanding painting collection project, having received over 400 works. Among them, outstanding works have been displayed through videos or on WeChat.
