[Notice] Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, Shanghai Natural History Museum, and Shanghai Astronomy Museum Open during the Spring Festival Holiday; Closed for Maintenance Prior to the Holiday

As the 2026 Spring Festival holiday approaches, the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum has adjusted its opening schedule to better accommodate public demand during the festive period. The arrangements are as follows:

I. The Shanghai Science and Technology Museum will reopen on a trial basis starting February 17, 2026. From February 17 (the first day of the Chinese New Year) to February 22 (the sixth day), opening hours will be 9:00–18:00. From February 23 (the seventh day) onward, regular opening hours will be 9:00–17:00, Tuesday through Sunday.

II. Beginning February 2026, the Shanghai Natural History Museum (a branch of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum) and the Shanghai Astronomy Museum (another branch of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum) will extend their opening hours to 20:00 on Saturdays and statutory holidays. To ensure smooth operations during the Spring Festival holiday, both museums will be closed for equipment inspection and maintenance from February 13 to 16, 2026 and will reopen on February 17 (the first day of the Chinese New Year). From February 17 to February 22 (the first to the sixth day of the Chinese New Year), opening hours will be 9:00–20:00 for the Shanghai Natural History Museum and 9:30–20:00 for the Shanghai Astronomy Museum.

III. Starting March 2026, the Shanghai Natural History Museum (a branch of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museumwill change its regular closure day from Monday to Tuesday (except statutory holidays). The first Tuesday closure will be on March 3.
