Four Courses of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum Have Been Rated as Excellent Off-campus and Extracurricular Education Resources in Shanghai
Recently, the Shanghai Science and Art Education Center and the Shanghai Extracurricular Education Association have released the second list of excellent off-campus and extracurricular education resources in Shanghai. In the list, there are four courses of the Shanghai Natural History Museum, including the teaching material Practice Like a Scientist: A Guide to Exploring the Shanghai Natural History Museum (Junior High School Edition), the interactive courseware for Nature Exploration Online and New World of Energy Series Courses, and the micro-course video for Yangtze River Protection.
Practice Like a Scientist: A Guide to Exploring the Shanghai Natural History Museum (Junior High School Edition) is a modular, tiered inquiry-based educational activity plan independently developed by Shanghai Natural History Museum in accordance with relevant"curriculum standards" and by virtue of its own exhibition and teaching resources. It includes a total of 9 sub-courses. Nature Exploration Online (NAO) is primarily designed for teenagers and nature lovers from the upper grades of elementary school and above, with five major themes (i.e. birds, insects, plants, geology, and paleontology), seven learning modules, and 20 online interactive games. Yangtze River Protection micro-course constitutes a part of the Chinese Dream of Scientific Research series video, totaling 4 lessons. The New World of Energy Series Courses was developed on STEM philosophy for students from the upper grades of elementary school to junior high school, based on the resources displayed in the "New World of Energy" exhibition area.
