Special Event on Museum Night on May 18 Launched by SNHM

The International Museum Day on May 18, 2024 was themed on "Museums are dedicated to education and research." In the evening, SNHM carried out the theme activity of "Play|Night at SNHM 2024." It endowed science popularization with innovation and vitality through scientific performances, hand-making experience, interactive games, etc., and presented the characteristic education to the visitors. SNHM strives to immerse the visitors in curiosity, enlighten them with fun, allow then to experience the marvelous and pleasant nature, and bolster the love for life.

At the site, wonderful programs were staged in turn. On the main stage, the scientific performance team of SNHM presented the original scientific experiment show Adding Eyes to a Dragon, the doctor of Huashan Hospital, Fudan University presented the health-themed talk show Radiation, and the professional musicians of Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra brought the visitors the marvelous "music" series of performances of SNHM in the exhibition area. In the EcoVision exhibition area, artists from Shanghai Puppet Theater led the visitors into a forest of light and shadow, where they had zero contact with the art of light and shadow and immersed themselves in the show.

SNHM's classic theaters, such as the popular "Big Bang Theater," "Jurassic Escape Theater" and "Into Africa" multimedia show and other popular exhibits were also opened in the evening. Meanwhile, in the theme area of "Experiencing Nature," science teachers from the Exhibition and Education Center of SNHM gave an interactive explanation of "Butterfly Kaleidoscope."  A small popular science exhibition of "Deadly Contest Between Humans and Mosquitoes" carried out by the Jing'an District Health Commission was nestled on the B2 fair of the exhibition area. The visitors can also use traditional Chinese medicine on the booth to learn to make mosquito repellent scented sachets.

In addition, the fair also featured the "Insect in the museum" small program programming display, "Bird's Nest Workshop" natural hand-making course display, "Small Naturalist" course display, "One Square Meter Museum" science education practice brand display, "Butterfly Rebirth" specimen production display and other unique interactive booths. These rich and interesting activities gave visitors an opportunity to increase their knowledge of science and appreciate the charm and vitality of SNHM.
