SSTM Partners with Tencent to Build a Cross-Sector Platform, Expanding Science Communication from Academician Lectures to Public Welfare Night Programs

On the evening of December 31, 2025, the “Transdisciplinary Voyage: Sci-Tech Principal Space Station” Science New Year Conference and Tencent Technology Night, guided by the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and jointly organized by SSTM and the Tencent Charity Foundation, were held at Shanghai Natural History Museum (SNHM, a branch of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum). At the main venue, a wide range of programs including speeches, dialogues, experiments, and artistic performances were presented. The official launch of the “Public Scientist Project for Biodiversity” and the “Future Directors Speak” program injected new vitality into science education. Throughout the museum, the Museum Night themed “My Treasure Box” offered audiences a symphony of science and art. This event marked another achievement in the deep collaboration between SSTM and Tencent. From academicians’ lectures to scientific experiments, from artistic performances to public welfare initiatives, science is reaching the public in cutting-edge and diversified ways. The event achieved notable communication impact, with online dissemination exceeding 8 million views that evening.
