"Science Travel · Technological Innovation Principal Space Station" Launched Its First New Year Special Event

On February 24, 2024, the Lantern Festival of the Year of the Lóng, the "Science Travel · Technological Innovation Principal Space Station" ushered in its first New Year special event. Wang Yuheng, a designer and Antarctic ambassador of high Internet popularity and influence, visited Shanghai Natural History Museum, and had a discussion with Ni Minjing, member of the National Committee of CPPCC and curator of Shanghai Science & Technology Museum, and more than 30 guests including presidents of member universities from the Science and Technology Innovation Alliance of Chinese Universities. They together presented the audience with the first New Year's gift for science popularization and officially launched the new voyage of the Science and Technology Innovation Principal Space Station in 2024.

During the on-site dialogue and exchange, Wang Yuheng and Curator Ni Minjing discussed the relationship between nature and technology from multiple perspectives around "the appearance of nature" and how to better integrate natural elements into technological innovation. Curator Ni shared his insights on the value of museum learning with the theme of Museums Construct the Future Format of Learning. On the same day, principals and famous teachers from all over the country and districts in Shanghai also gathered together to summarize their practices of science and technology innovation education in the past year and looked forward to future development.

In addition to on-site sharing, "museum exploration" was also held. Wang Yuheng and Yu Yiming, Deputy Director of the Internet Science Popularization Department of the Exhibition and Education Center of Shanghai Natural History Museum and the "host of the museum", opened the door to the collection warehouse of Shanghai Science & Technology Museum, and interpreted the stories about the collections. Under the company of other staff of the museum, the group watched the zodiac animals exhibition in the Year of the Lóng, went through the museum’s classic tour routes, talked about dinosaur fossils and natural sciences, looked for the footprints of “Lóng” in the hundreds of millions of years of life evolution in the museum, and felt the incredible power of life in the intertwining of natural evolution and technological innovation.
