In order to thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi's "Two-Wing" theory that scientific and technological innovation and science popularization are equally important, and promote the implementation of the core work of "Initial Science Popularization Efforts in Five New Towns", on March 11 and 14, 2023, the "Initial Science Popularization Efforts in Five New Towns" series activities of Shanghai Science & Technology Museum were held in Songjiang and Nanhui New Towns. The Exhibition and Education Centers of the three museums send "Science Show" and "Unbounded Museum Classroom" projects to towns and schools.

On March 11, the first activity of "Initial Science Popularization Efforts in Five New Towns" entering Nanhui New Town was held in the cultural service center of the town. More than 100 audiences participated by making an appointment with the "Suishenban APP". The Exhibition and Education Centers of Shanghai Science & Technology Museum brought original science shows The Power of Structure and Sound and Music, where common objects in life were used as experimental materials. The humorous plot vividly interpreted scientific principles. The science performance show, integrating stage performance, improved the audience's interest in science with intuitive and interesting scientific experiment contents in the novel teaching activity mode.

On the 14th, science teachers from the Exhibition and Education Centers of Shanghai Science & Technology Museum and Shanghai Natural History Museum came to Jianping Lingang Middle School, bringing the wonderful "Unbounded Museum Classroom" to the students, opening the first lesson of the science class. Jin Zilong and Zhang Yujia from the Exhibition and Education Center of Shanghai Science & Technology Museum led the students to create a keyboard that can actually control a computer with the development boards and some simple materials. Han Junjie, from the Exhibition and Education Center of Shanghai Natural History Museum, brought the gold medal course How Birds Adapt to Flight, which won the first prize in the Third Display and Review on Science Education Projects in Science Museums, and explored the physiological structure and behavioral habits of birds adapting to flight with the students through observation, recording, hands-on production and scientific experiments, so that everyone could improve their ability in scientific investigation and division of labor in the activity.
