The First Inter-Branch Crossing Cup Debate Invitational Tournament for 2024 Was Held

From August 22 to August 23, 2024, the First Inter-Branch Crossing Cup Debate Invitational Tournament for 2024 was held at the Shanghai Astronomy Museum. Four top debate teams from the High School Affiliated to Fudan University, the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China, Beijing Haidian Kaiwen Academy and Tsinghua University High School were selected online and presented a visual and auditory feast for the visitors in the two-day semi-finals and finals.

Relying on the brand project "Technological Innovation Principal Space Station", the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum held the first Inter-Branch Crossing Cup Debate Invitational Tournament, to help cultivate top-notch innovative talents through debate. With the innovation of the competition system, debate topics and content, it aims to give full play to the role of debate in cultivating teenagers' critical and independent thinking, in-depth exploration, interdisciplinary learning, language expression and other skills, to enable students' critical thinking about and exploration of complex issues, and to constantly stimulate and expand the boundaries of thinking. At the same time, the dialogue and exchanges with scientists may lead students to a broader knowledge world and thinking space, help them establish scientific, correct and rational cognitive attitudes and values, and lay the foundation for their future scientific research, career choice and personal growth.
