The Technological Innovation Principal Space Station Set Sail in the New Year to Work Out a Diversified Melody for the Future of Cities

On January 24, 2025, the "Science Travel · Technological Innovation Principal Space Station” ushered in its first New Year event — New Year Technological Innovation Principal's Meeting — in the exhibition area of the Long River of Life at Shanghai Natural History Museum. The success of this meeting marked the official launch of this technological innovation education brand in 2025 which has been carefully incubated for two years.

With the theme of "The Future of Cities," two distinguished experts were invited to discuss on the event site and outline the direction of urban development from the diversified perspectives of "Science + Humanities." Lu Ming, a distinguished professor of Antai College of Economics & Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Zhao Lihong, a renowned poet, essayist, and novelist, delivered keynote speeches respectively on Why Crowded Cities Are More Environmentally Friendly and Nature in Cement Cities respectively. The Report on the Development of Science Education and Science Communication (2024) was also officially released at the meeting.

Moreover, the "Curator's Invitation" session brought the collision of ideas to a climax. Lu Ming, Zhao Lihong, and Ni Minjing, Curator of Shanghai Science & Technology Museum, sat around and engaged in in-depth discussions on the theme of the event. They shared unique insights from their respective fields of expertise in humanities, economy, and education, pooled wisdom for sustainable urban development during exchanges, and put forward a series of forward-looking strategies and suggestions.
