A Flagship Event of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum Was introduced to Fudan University to Vigorously Promote the Spirit of Scientists
June 7, 2024 marks the 110th birthday anniversary of Lu Hefu, a celebrated nuclear physicist, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and professor at Fudan University. In honor of the outstanding contributions of Mr. Lu Hefu, the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, the Department of Nuclear Science and Technology (/Institute of Modern Physics) at Fudan University, and the Shanghai Science & Education Development Foundation organized the special event "Meet @ Scientists — In Memory of Lu Hefu" and the 207th Shanghai Science Communication Forum at Fudan University on the afternoon of June 8, in order to carry forward the spirit of scientists and enhance the public's understanding and interest in nuclear science.
Ma Yugang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Vice President of Fudan University, delivered a science lecture titled "‘Nuclear’ with You: A Casual Discussion on Nuclear Science and Technology". Lu Yongliang, the second son of Mr. Lu Hefu, shared stories about his father's scientific research. On the same day, 30 lucky participants who share the same birthday as the "father of nuclear energy in China", Mr. Lu Hefu, had the chance to tour the key laboratories of Fudan University's Department of Nuclear Science and Technology through the experimental platform, including the Accelerator Laboratory, EBIT (Electron Beam Ion Trap) Laboratory, VR (Virtual Reality) Laboratory, and CUPID Neutrino Physics Laboratory.
