"The Starry Sky of Dunhuang" Expo Included in the 2023 Recommendation of Shanghai Quality Museum Exhibitions

Under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism (Shanghai Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage), the Shanghai Museums Association organized the 2023 Recommendation of Shanghai Quality Museum Exhibitions, and received a total of 35 exhibitions from 32 cultural exhibition institutions. Recently, the results of the 2023 Recommendation of Shanghai Quality Museum Exhibitions were officially announced, and "The Starry Sky of Dunhuang" original exhibition of Shanghai Astronomy Museum was successfully selected.

In 2023, the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, Shanghai Astronomy Museum and Dunhuang Academy jointly created "The Starry Sky of Dunhuang" original exhibition, focusing on the two major cultural and science popularization IPs of astronomy and the Dunhuang culture with the integration of digital media technology. The exhibition was officially opened to the public on December 21, 2023, comprehensively displaying the astronomical treasures of Dunhuang to the public in a multi-dimensional and in-depth manner and promoting the outstanding astronomical achievements and scientific culture of ancient China. As of March 19, 2024, the number of visitors to the exhibition has exceeded 115,000, and nearly 15,000 people have participated in educational activities derived from the exhibition online and offline.

The award not only demonstrates the industry's recognition of "The Starry Sky of Dunhuang" original exhibition, but also expands the social influence of the exhibition. Next, "The Starry Sky of Dunhuang" will also be submitted to apply for the 21st (2023) Top Ten Recommendation of National Quality Museum Exhibitions organized by the Chinese Museums Association and China Cultural Relics News and compete for national exhibition awards with 116 other domestic exhibitions.
