National Ecology Day Jointly Shaping a New Vision of Ecological Civilization

August 15, 2025, marked the 3rd National Ecology Day. On that morning, the 8th China Ecological Civilization Forum and the 228th session of the Shanghai Science Communication Forum, both themed Integration of Rivers and Seas, Urban-Rural Safety,” were held in Shanghai.

In his speech at the event, Director Ni Minjing emphasized that Shanghai’s urban ecology concerns the sustainable development of the entire Yangtze River Delta and is a key component in realizing the grand blueprint of a “Beautiful China.” The SNHM has always regarded “spreading ecological wisdom and igniting a green future” as its top priority, promoting ecological civilization education through thematic exhibitions, educational activities, and other initiatives. Following the opening ceremony, a special science lecture session was held. Academicians and experts provided in-depth interpretations of the rich connotations and practical approaches of the concept of ecological civilization from multiple perspectives, including aquatic ecology, biodiversity conservation, science education practices, and science communication.
