Shanghai Science & Technology Museum Participated in the 2023 International Symposium on the Development of Natural Science Museums Under BRI

In November 29-30, 2023, the 2023 International Symposium on the Development of Natural Science Museums Under BRI (BRISMIS 2023) was held in Beijing. The special forum "New Ideas for the Construction of Science Museums Under the Concept of STEM Education" was held at the China Science and Technology Museum on the morning of November 30. The forum was co-convened by Ni Minjing, Curator of the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum, and Rawin Raviwongse, Curator of the National Science and Technology Museum of Thailand. A total of 15 guests from science museums and science popularization institutions in 10 countries were invited to the symposium to give their speeches.

During the symposium, the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum renewed the memorandum of cooperation with the National Geological Museum of Uzbekistan. The renewal of this memorandum of cooperation will further strengthen the cooperation between Shanghai Science & Technology Museum and science museums from Central Asia, and promote cooperation and exchanges in science and culture between China and Uzbekistan. It is of great importance to further enhance China’s cultural soft power, promote the scientific spirit, popularize scientific knowledge, tell good Chinese stories, present a true, multi-aspect and comprehensive profile of China, and better serve facilitate the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
