Special exhibition on the origin, development and exchange of Blue and White Porcelain
A special exhibition on the origin, development and exchange of Blue and White Porcelain was launched at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum on May 17, exhibiting the achievements of Chinese porcelain. It is part of scientific and cultural exhibition on the theme of Belt and Road, with the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation being held in Beijing on May 14-15. The exhibition showcased more than 50 representative cultural relics from the Tang Dynasty to the Republic of China era to demonstrate the technology, culture and art of Blue and White Porcelain. The exhibition provided an all-dimensional, immersive, and interactive experience for the audience. Craftsmen were on hand to show the intangible cultural heritage and interacted with visitors. Together with colorful education activities, the exhibition displayed the development path, art appreciation, cultural meaning, as well as the handicraft and scientific evaluation method on Blue and White Porcelain.
Apart from the subjects of the origin, development and exchange, the exhibition focused on the important moments of birth, growth, prosperity and renaissance of the Blue and White Porcelain. Particularly, it highlighted the deep cultural impact, the glamor of the original porcelain road, and reflected the historical origin of the spirit of peace, exchange, understanding, inclusiveness, cooperation and win-win of the current Belt and Road Initiative through the interpretation of the Islamic elements, export and technology transfer of Blue and White Porcelain.
During the exhibition, visitors experienced the Blue and White Porcelain Road with augmented reality technology, exploring the history of the Blue and White Porcelain exports. They also got to know detailed information of the different ages and different shapes of Blue and White Porcelain via a multimedia touchscreen which had a width of 6 meters.
