2024 Dunhuang Practice Activity for "Science & Culture Integration Top-notch Innovative Talent Training Program" Was Held
From July 2 to July 6, 2024, Shanghai Science and Technology Museum joined hands with Dunhuang Academy to host the 2024 Dunhuang Practice Activity for "Science & Culture Integration Top-notch Innovative Talent Training Program." Forty junior school students from Shanghai embarked on a cultural and technological journey that transcended time and space.
During the event, the students "immersively" visited the Mogao Grottoes and Yulin Grottoes, appreciating the profound impact of the millennia-old grottoes firsthand. Also, they listened to wonderful sharing sessions by several senior experts from Dunhuang Academy. In addition, they participated in hands-on courses, creating clay tablet paintings by themselves. Through steps such as tracing, mixing colors, painting, and outlining, they experienced the beauty of traditional craftsmanship, as if engaging in a dialogue with the ancient sages across time and space. The outdoor stargazing course turned the students' longing for the stars into a "firsthand view". Furthermore, a special achievement display session was designed to integrate what they had learned and felt into their own creations, presenting a refreshing report.
