A Special Event for the Double Ninth Festival Was Carried Out by the Shanghai Science Communication Forum

On October 11, coinciding with the Double Ninth Festival, the 216th session of the Shanghai Science Communication Forum, themed “Empowering Through Technology, Warmth for the Double Ninth”, took place at the Shanggang New Village Sub-district. Renowned medical expert Zhang Wei, Deputy Director of the National Orthopedic Medical Center and Administrative Deputy Director of Orthopedics at Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, led a health education seminar focused on "Caring for Elderly Hip Health". Zhang advises elderly individuals to undertake regular bone density screenings and engage in scientific, reasonable exercise to enhance cardiovascular function, increase joint and ligament activity, and improve overall physical condition, thereby significantly reducing the risk of falls.

In addition to lectures, the event also featured an array of engaging and educational activities, including a senior science marketplace, science demonstrations, educational performances, and science films, offering holiday greetings to elderly attendees and providing them with a hands-on experience of “Technology Aiding the Elderly for an ‘Intelligent’ Living”
